Ok, so my OH hates moses baskets, they give him the creeps (its a rosemary's baby thing) sooooo does anyone know of where I might be able to find a non chintzy, gender neutral non wicker moses basket...?

We are getting a cot but I know alot of friends babies dont like being in cots early on as they are too spacious, also the cot we are getting would take up alot of room in our bedroom and so I wanted to get something just for the first few months.

YEah Ihave looked at the cribs and I like them but just seems expensive to buy a crib and mattress and thena cot and mattress as well.

See, I really cant see the difference between a travel cot with a moses quality (if not better) mattress in it and a moses basket...am I missing something?

I'd splash out on the extra £50 or so and get a crib instead of the travel cot. Travel cots are obviously not intended for long term use.

Also im sure you can find a second hand crip in your local paper or something and make sure its clean as long as u have a new mattress it wont matter! Or tell your OH to stop being stupid lol men r worse than babies...

Or if you just buy a cot and wrap baby up tight at night in a cellular blanket they tend to sleep better anyway

Travel cots are obviously not intended for long term use.

I know they arent but thats just because of the mattress ( if you can call them that they are a peice of thin foam). They make the matresses thinner so as to make them easy to pack away when travelling...

Ill speak to OH later, its not just the money just seems a tad excessive to have a cot, crib and a travel cot for when we go to see his mum etc!
