My friend had a baby 6 weeks ago now.. and she first went out into town at night 2 and half weeks after babba was born!!

She has since got some negative comments from people who dont even know what its like to be a mother!! It gets her down!! I sympathise with her as I dont see why people have to have an opinion on such things and even worse express those opinions!!

One particular girl said she thought her behaviour was outrageous and where was her motherly instict!!!??!!

I think after being pregnant for 9 months and looking after a baby on a daily basis us mothers deserve a night out!! Leaving baby with daddy or even nanny on ocasions does no harm to the bonding process!! Surely becoming a recluse while your friends still have a social life will onset baby blues and post natal depression!!

She has been out twice since her baby was born on 14th May!!

But just wondered what other peoples views were and how long they left it before venturing into a night on the town... ???

i promise I wont take offence as I appreciate we will all see it differently! My SIL is 32 and she cant stand to leave her LO for a night out... but I think they may be down to generation!! Me and my friends are 22 so still relatively young!! So maybe age has something to do with it!!

I'm not gonna lie........Im dying for a night out!! Ok im going to be a mummy but im still me & that me likes a good night out with the girls

Its my 21st abround 2 months afta bubs arrives & im most certainly going out for it. People can say what they like but us mummies are people to who deserve a social life!!

We lived above MIL prior to our kids were born and up until last year. We asked her to babysit twice and she did not do it willingly that's for damn sure, but she did. She always said I needed to get out more but never once did she offer to babysit.

So, I had no one to really look after the kids until I found a few casual babysitters last year.

From the time I was pregnant with my daughter until my son was 4 years old, I went out 3 times. I tell you, it was tough.

I truly believe that every mother needs a night out here and there or they will go insane. So be it that it was 6 weeks after. She probably deserved it.

I'm lucky that my mum & dad are really understanding & have both said if I want to go out sometimes then they're happy to take over!!

All I want is my 21st Birthday nightout & then i'll be very very happy lol

I have bought my outfit already so fingers crossed I lose my baby weight by then!!

Well I will be pregnant for my 30th birthday and as soon as I feel up to it after my baby is born I will be celebrating it!
My friends had my "Fabulous 30th Birthday Bash" all planned for this year then I found out I was pregnant!
I honestly can't remember how long I waited before I went out after I had my daughter, but I was only 17 at the time so I can pretty much guarantee it wasn't that long!

I agree, that after 9 months of sickness, sore bits, heartburn, childbirth etc you really deserve a night out with your friends!

If by 'night out' you mean a couple drinks with friends, then yes I could definitely go for one of those right about now. But I'm not even the legal drinking age yet, actually far from it, and the only thing most other teens want to do is smoke pot and do drugs. So I won't be getting my night out for awhile yet.. maybe a margarita with one of my auntie's once I'm done breastfeeding, but that's a long time from now.

I was 20 when I had my first. My best mate got married 3 weeks after she was born so I went to the wedding without her and went home in between the day and evening receptions.

I think it was about 6 weeks after I had my first when I went 'out on the town'. I left her with ther Dad and was back around 11pm as I was still feeding her myself but I was ready for it!!
