I'm Currently Feeling: | Yeah most places do either a scan for Down's which is earlier or a triple (or in my case quadruple) blood test which is done at 16 (I'm 15+6 today). We've decided not to have it but my MW said if we change our minds in the next couple of weeks we can still get it done so don't worry. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I was told when I went for my first mw appointment that i was lucky to be able to have the NT scan done as not everywhere offers it. your area just may not offer it to you x |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I think i got mine around 16 weeks and found the results just before my 20 week scan, so i dont think its abnormal to wait this long. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Your PCt is probably quite busy. I wouldn't worry too much women are being seen at different times. Some practices seem to be workin in advance and some behind. If your wanting your triple test bloods (downs test) done though i think you'd be best off ringing and asking them because i think they might be staged for a reason. When you see the MW ask her whats going on and why you seem to be a few weeks behind. My mW gave me a list of what i need to have and when so i can chase it up if i've not heard. I do advise you nag about antenatal classes tho because they fill up fast!! |

| Nuchal scans (the ones for downs at 14 weeks ish) are not standard onthe NHS. I would have had to pay for mine. OTher than that, you will have your normal dating scan at about 12 weeks, a midwife appointment at about 16 weeks and then your scan at 20 weeks ish. Its the midwifes app at 16 weeks where bloods are taken for downs etc but again, these are not offered everywhere and I know that Rachiebaby hasnt had a 16 week appointment at all!
It does seem your 1st app with your midwife is a bit late but that shouldnt really make a difference other than leaving you unsupported and a bit cheesed off!
Hope that helps! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | The NT scans are offered to woman over 40 I believe and the triple test is done at around 16wks with a blood test if you decide to have it.
I hope you haven't ripped anyones head off yet?! |
