I have seen it several times. I love it. I just reconfirmed my decision to have a MW and a home birth.

Firstly thank you for pm'ing this link, I thought it was great. I was shocked how some (not all) doctors treat birthing mothers. Where has the respect gone? Just because birthing mothers do not have university degrees doesn't mean we do not know how to birth. How about women 100 years ago? or 200 years ago? They knew what to do.

Personally I'm refusing induction, any pain relief, because it doesn't feel right. I do not want to be numb for something that should be amazing, and that's what birth it. Amazing. This is my last birth, I want to feel everything, I know what I want because I'm educating myself.

My hubby and I; are going to teach our daughter, the home birth can be amazing if you aren't medically at risk, that you wouldn't want to be numb for an amazing event. That breast-feeding is best. This is what we believe. But someone needs to start teaching our daughters that birth should be natural, relaxed (if you have no medical problems)

Now how amazing would it be for women to take the control back over birthing?

I think it's great you are teaching this to your daughters! I had a Mom that taught me it, without really "teaching it." She had 4 babies (BIG babies) all completely natural. I never thought I would have birth any other way.

I remember on the program the doctor saying that most women were starting to believe c-sections were the norms, I don't want my daughter to be one of those women. And you are so lucky your Mama taught you that, you are really lucky because she gave you a great gift of knowledge.

i agree about teaching out daughters! its crazy to think a large amount of women think c-sects are normal its major surgery that shouldnt be performed unless there is medical reason.

natural (vaginal) (drug free if poss )is the way forward and breast is best!

This is a wonderful movie, and awesome example of the reality of OB care in the US.

One in three c-sections is absolutely outrageous when the medical field knows scientifically that vaginal births are medically BETTER for mom and baby.
