is it true-sweep only works within 24 hours?


is this true? thats what the doctor told me, if it works it works within 24 hours,
you can still go into labour at any time but it wont be from sweep?
but my friend told me she went into labour 2 days later?
confused

they normally give 24/48 hours for a sweep to work hun, at least thats what my mw said , not that she managed to give me one

I had 3 last time.....the first 10 days before I was due, the second a week before and the final one the day after I was due and my waters went that night.

No one can ever really say if a sweep works and how long it takes, because generally you have them when you are almost term and might have gone into labour on your own. They might help they, might just be done when you'd ave gone on your own anyway

I had a few and they didn't work, they are just bloody uncomfortable!!

My advice is sex!! It is like a sweep but also puts the prostawotsits that are in the pessary they use to induce are found naturally in sperm.
Just a few gentle times over the next few days will get you going!
Worked for me last time when i had previously always been induced!!
And i shall be bribing dh into it again so i am not late!!

I did try this
We started a few weeks b4 due date and my labour started a day b4 due date, I was really surprised, I was so sure i would be late again!!
