antenatal swimming/sports classes

arrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggghhhhhhhhhh.

I am trying to find a sports class (preferably swimming) in my local area and there are no courses! I can learn to swim (which I did 25 years ago) and that's it! I live in Newbury in West Berkshire and nowhere has a class for pregnant women! Unless I want to go to a private gym and either pay £20 for 30 minutes or £45 a month!

Anyone in the area know of any classes? I want to meet mums to be in my area as well as doing gentle excersise.

Thanks
lynnikins - the private gyms don't do pre natal classes either!
Janidog - that site was a ray of hope, and then the closest town that did one say that they don't do it anymore! How tedious!

The one closet to me has closed, so i have to travel 45mins to go to the next, which puts me off slightly. I find the private gyms won't let a pregnant woman join in normal aquaarobics but tone it down a bit, so ive been finding it all about frustrating. I also bought a pregnancy exercise DVD to help me keep in shape

It is frustrating isnt it? I also have the option of a gym 45 mins away that does a pregnancy aqua class, however this is close to my work and I wanted to meet people in my area! I thought this would be quite a popular activity, however there appears to be very limited classes for pregnant women in my area, regardless of activity!

I'm really lucky that I belong to a gym already and they do a prenatal yoga class on a Sunday afternoon. They also have a pool and have aqua classes. I'm waiting until my 12 week scan and then I'm definitely booking my place on Yoga!! However haven't done any exercise for 2 weeks as I've had zero energy. Been feeling a little better during the last couple of days so hopefully I'll make it to the gym for some gentle exercise this week. Hope you manage to find something, wonder if the NCT would be able to recommend anything locally to you? Might be worth getting in touch.

No, the closest one is reading and I called and they no longer do them. Thanks for all the suggestions, but it's not meant to be!!
