A couple pregnancy questions.

My husband and I are TTC - and I honestly cannot wait to become pregnant and become a mommy, but I've heard a lot of horror stories about pregnancy and what it does to your body. Regardless if it's true or not, my mind is set on having a baby, but I'd like to know..

Does pregnancy really shrink your boobs? I've read and heard it does, and I'm a tad bit concerned about this. I've also read it widens your hips permanently and makes your bum flat. Should I look forward to this happening?

If you ladies can give me a little bit of advice, please do!

I can't actually answer this yet, as I'm yet to pop! But hopefully somebody who has had a child previously can help you out with it

So far, I can tell you that you'll (if you're already prone to them) most likely get stretchmarks in places you never thought possible!

I have also heard of ladies getting dry skin after they have had babies, but again I'm yet to experience post partum

xx Hope you get your soon!

Well TBH having Poppy didn't change my body at all. I was lucky not to get stretch marks and even though I breastfed for 17 months my boobs are no different from before (although that's a difficult one to judge as I was already pg again when I stopped feeding) My bum is as big and round as always ha ha.

Well Im onto my third, before my first I was a 34b bra size which went up to a 38dd whilst breastfeeding and has now settled at a 38d not quite as pert but havent shrunk.I have stretchmarks around my belly button but have been lucky not to get them on thighs bum etc,but who looks at those anyway?!
I have always had a big round bum and it didnt flatten and my hips and boobs have stayed in proportion.
Each time I have actually lost weight with the baby but put it on in the year following as I dont really have time to focus on healthy eating, but everyone is different.Making/growing a baby is something to be proud of and if it changes your body then so be it,its totally worth it

it does change your body, i tend to have have no bum when pregnant but it comes back afterwards, after i stopped feeding ds i lost about half a cup size off my boobs. got plenty of streachmarks with him down the backs of my thighs are probably the worst ones and the ones on my tummy were barely noticable after a year, ( by then i was just pregnant again ) and no major new ones yet, my hips were always this wide ive not noticed a change there lol but alot of my friends with children say they put fat on over their hips when pregnant that has been tough to shift since,

it changes your body but so does puburty and eating too many cakes , over all my differences just show me how special my DS is

I gained 30kgs in my first pregnancy! i was back to normal within 2 weeks of the birth. My boobs stayed the same size pre pregnancy, my bum kept a little chunk, but whos complaining lol I think it depends on ur genes ect, not everyone goes back to normal, some never do. But i couldnt care less how my body changed, id just exercise if i stayed bigger. In the end i had a healthy baby boy

In truth, it affects everyone differently.

I breastfed for 10 weeks and was warned by everyone about saggy, flat, smaller boobs but I can honestly say mine have not changed one bit.

There was only 9 months between me having my daughter and getting pregnant again but im pretty sure my hips and bum didnt change too much either, if at all!

The only thing I definitely noticed a change in was stomach muscles (obviously!). I was always very proud of my stomach before I had my daughter and that was the one thing that I couldnt get back. To be fair I didnt really try very hard and got pregnant again quite quick but that was the one thing that bothered me.

Dont let it put you off though hun! xxxx

It can be different for everyone, but I haven't really met anyone who had smaller breasts after pregnancy. After my first son my breasts were bigger than previously and haven't shrunk since and I'm on my second pregnancy now. Also, the hip windening can happen, but generally not. My cousin's hips stayed bigger than previously, but mine and all the other moms I know their hips went right back to normal. As for a flat butt, again, I'm sure it can happen, but I think that's more if you sit a lot. I haven't noticed flat butts on moms. Your body may look a little different after pregnancy, but I don't think anyone is really going to care about it. Our bodies will change no matter if we have kids or not, it's a part of life.

Look after your boobs and they will be fine!
i have had 4 babies, and breast fed them all, i have always supported them well and even worn a soft bra at night when bigger and feeding, and although they do look a little empty after i have weaned a baby they do gradually get back to pre pregnancy size and eventually firmness! (even though that can take a while it does happen, the fat needs to deposit back having been used)
I have stretch marks, faded old ones, but i dropped 2 dress sizes and a stone in weight after having babies and regained a better more womanly shape, I love what having babies has done to my body, and embrace any change as a sign of my womanhood and ability to bear children!
It is a blessing to have babies, and my body is only a temporary sacrifice!
