Carry Cot or Moses Basket?

My DH and I have been looking at prams (travel systems) and a few of those have carry cots. But I'm concerned that the mattress that comes with them isn't thick enough for baby to sleep in overnight??
Do you think these would be okay with a deeper mattress - anyone use them?
Or do you prefer/use a Moses basket?

Thank you x

Sorry, I'm a total novice at this!... as you can tell - lol

depending on the pram i would be wary of putting a thicker mattress in as it could raise the baby up to high iykwim i have a babystyle prestige pram with a lovely deep carrycot but my freind has a hauck and the carrycot is about half the height of mine so a deeper mattress would mean lo would be at the top almost (hope that makes sense lol)

i dont think there is any diff in the mattress i have in my pram and the one i have in the crib

Personally I would invest in a moses basket, and stand if you intend to have baby by your bed.
The moses baskets are well ventilated, and more spacifically designed for night time use.
Baby can get quite warm at bedtime and the baskets are nice and cool.
I used a motion monitor with my dd from the time she came home from hospital, and with the moses basket there are plenty of woven spaces to get the bits through for that.
The basket and stand you can move from upstairs to downstairs, stand in room to lounge floor etc, and baby spends quit a lot of time in there for the first few months!

The travel system we bought for our son had a carrycot which was designed to be safe to sleep in at night (extra ventilation, etc.). We bought a moses basket mattress to use in it overnight and will be doing the same this time. I'm not sure that all carrycots are suitable for overnight sleeping though.

Most carry cots aren't designed for night time use so definitely get a moses basket or put baby straight into a cot with a newborn nest.

We are planning on getting a Bugaboo Bee (which has no basket) or the Cameleon (which does) however, we've still got a moses basket. I want baby to differenciate between the two x
