Is orgasming safe?

Hi Everyone, I've always read that having orgasms during pregnancy is perfectly safe, however, I've noticed that immediately after I orgasm (possibly during aswell?) my belly goes very very hard, so I can feel the womb really easily. Is this normal? Do others experience this? I'm 17 weeks pregnant.

Thanks

I get this too, I got it last time as well. From what I hear, lots of mums get it and it's normal and not to worry about!

My theory is, it's giving the uterus some exercise, which will make the contractions more effective on D-Day.... so have as many orgasms as possible!

You mightve heard that sex and orgasms can help to induce labour - that is true, but ONLY if your body is pretty much ready to go into labour ANYWAY. It doesn't work in that way at this early stage. So yeah, completely safe. Have yourself one on me

I asked a similar question in 3rd trimester about female ejaculation and apparently orgasming is very good for your body as it exercises the same muscles you will be giving birth with.

Totally normal.
Ever since I found out I was pregnant, every time I orgasm, I get mild cramps, almost like contractions in my uterus. They only last for about a minute, then go away, and they do no harm.
Enjoy yourself while you still feel like having orgasms! That's no longer something I crave at the moment.

It's normal. You'll have a fake contraction, or a few, after you orgasim. They are called Braxton Hicks and are totally normal and won't hurt you or baby.
