Yeah you do and that's why they make so many restrictions in terms of what you eat - eg rare steak, runny eggs, soft serve ice-cream etc...

I've had medium steak and semi runny eggs and I've been fine (though I did feel kinda bad afterwards just incase something happened! )..

Over here in the US I can't find any info on chickens being vaccinated against Salmonella like they do in the UK...I felt much happier eating UK eggs than US ones, but they do have preventative methods over here too - I think we're 1 in 20,000 as the risk of getting sick from an egg. It's still very low....It's just one of those things where you have to decide what you want to do, the risks are low, but there are still risks!!

I actually had some cake mix the other day and then remembered it had 3 raw eggs in it....I worried for a minute and then got over it and had another lick of it

xx

Ok..a little education on eggs. If you can get them directly from a farmer, it's the best, and don't let him wash them off. The eggs are wrapped in what is called the bloom. It's a thin coating that the hen produces that keeps bacteria from getting into the egg. The only way it can is if there is a small crack in the egg. Don't buy eggs that might have those fine cracks in them..Salmonella is not inside the egg itelf, but comes from the outside..I get mine from a local farmer who does not wash them for us..He wipes them off if need be, and that's it. I used to own my own chickens, and had researched this quite a bit..

Over 12weeks I would do it but personally not before. Can't wait for my first dippy egg or even an egg sandwich made with a yolk that is still soft, not super runny but a little bit that mixes in with the mayo. Hmmmm I'm making myself hungry

Well in UK your not allowed but I gotta say I did, I couldnt help myself I had 3 egg sandwiches in one day when I was pregnant. I was very early on too!

My mum didnt have any guidelines whatsoever when she was pregnant with us and we are all fine. Seriously what did they do before they had all these what not to do's!!! Its ridiculous how much stuff your supposed to not eat! Maybe you should just get a list of what you can eat cos its shorter!

I am SO guilty of eating runny eggs. Sure they tell you not to - and then I smile and nod and go home and do as I please. It's not like she is going to be standing over my shoulderi n the kitchen frowning at the egg timer. I buy decent eggs, I make sure the white is cooked, and I limit it to a couple of eggs a week or so... and I am not dead yet. Way I see it, eggs are a good source of iron (and other things), and overcooked eggs make me gag. Why cut such a nurtrient rich item from my diet completely?

I still had runny eggs, hot dogs and peanut butter etc.... I think if you and your family dont have any history of allergies alot is ok. And if you are careful with how fresh things are and your cooking.
