I'm Currently Feeling:

I'd have an Elective C-Section if my baby is breech. Maybe that is "the easy way out," but it's safer for me and my baby.

I think they would class that as medically necessary? I know it is possible to try for vaginal birth if baby is breech AND you've had a natural labour before (my sister has done it) I just don't believe in having a c-section unless it is needed. You wouldn't have surgery for a non medical reason, why should this be any different?

I'm not pro-ceserean or anything but everyone has the right to choose. Some people are against pain relief too, doesn't mean you won't use that option?

To me pain relief and having a c-section are two completely different things. You are right they have the right to chose, but again why would you have surgery when you may not need it? I'm not speaking medically needing a c-section. A doctor wouldn't operate on someone if they didn't need it and there were other ways around it, why should this be any different?

I didn't say they're the same thing. Everyone is different, everyone has different ideas of how they want their birth and everyone should be given the options.

Doctors do operate on people for reasons that aren't medical also. Face lifts, tummy tucks, boob jobs, all wanted, but not always needed.

Also, I highly doubt having surgery is the "easy way out." Unless you've been through both yourself then I don't think you can comment on which is easier.

I never said it was an easy way out, I completely disagree with that statement. No where did I even mention that.

while we're humans and there is freedom of speech and choice I give each woman the option to choose. Where the funds come from is another matter.
We're not communists. We have the right to choose what we like in many aspects of life. So why not our bodies too.

Unless as Toria said, you're going to ban plastic surgery too?
And any non life saving surgery?!...So would we ban having teeth pulled / straightened? They're not life threatening... What about breast enlargemnts? And sex changes?

...this is madness...

a silly debate.

lol no although I can only imagine. Our office has jacaranda only. They've been at it all day though. They started a rumour that all South African music has been banned from the station. I'm sure you can imagine what an uproar that started hehehe.

It wasn't me that started the rumour about the c-sections LOL promise! I was also fooled
