Pre op assessment

I have a c-section booked on the 1st December and have to attend a pre op assessment. Does anybody know what happens at these??

Hi. I'm also having a pre-op on Monday for c-section on 1st! I was wondering this too. I know they apparently give us some tablets to take to settle our stomachs but I'm not sure what else happens!

Wish I could help, but when I was booked in for my section on the Tuesday and my pre-op was due the monday, my LO decided he wanted to arrive on the sunday so I never got one!!

I had mine the other day.

They ask you swab up your nose and down below on your perinium for MRSA. They take some blood to check for anemia and take your BP. They also gave me some zantac to take the night before and in the morning to quell any stomach acid.

Then they just ran through where to go and what to roughly expect on the day and what to bring with me.

They take bloods to check for Anaemia, Platelet Count and they do a Group n Save of your blood type just in case
