thanks to AFC84 for posting this in another part of the forum... i was just wondering, for those of us who know the gender of our babies, how much of this is accurate! i'm carrying a boy so here are my answers... if these were accurate i think i'd be having a girl! lol

You're more likely to be carrying a boy if...

• Your baby's heartbeat is lower than 140 beats per minute
mine's heartbeat has always been 147+ since my second ultrasound

• you're carrying all out front
nope, i seem to be getting wider

• you're carrying low
i think so... i've had ladies tell me they knew it was a boy by how i was carrying lol

• you're blooming in pregnancy
not sure what this is referring to

• you didn't suffer from morning sickness in your first trimester
not one single time

• your right breast is bigger than your left
yep, but it always has been

• you look at yourself in the mirror for at least a minute and your pupils dilate
never tried lol

• you crave salty food or protein, such as cheese and meat
this is only sometimes, not constantly

• your feet become cold more quickly than before you were pregnant
yes

• you tie your wedding ring to some thread, hang it over your stomach and it moves in circles
can't remember what it did when i tried this

my hair is too damaged to tell but it got a little longer

idk lol, i move them around too much to call it one direction

Well, looks like I'd be carrying a boy if this was accurate and the amnio results show I'm definitely having a girl- I still think these old wives tales are fun though :-)

lol yeah i think women's bodies just develop differently, nothing to do with gender... but some of it seems true!

I don't buy into the old wives' tales at all. Most of them have a lot to do with how your body is built (like how you carry), how your body handles hormones (like the morning sickness and stuff about hair[which is also affected by prenatal vitamins]) and just basic natural body functions (like cravings, dilating pupils and garlic seeping through pores).

Then you have the outright ridiculous stuff like the wedding ring trick which is affected by thought. Try it sometime. Hold a string with a weight on the end (or a necklace with a pendant). It doesn't have to be over your belly. Make sure your arm isn't resting against your body and just hold the string straight. Then think about it going in a circle. Don't move your hand at all, just think it. After a few seconds, it'll swing in a circle. you can even reverse the circle. Then think it to swing in a straight line. You can make it change from side-to-side to back-and-forth.

Anywho, if I listened to them, I'd be having boy/girl twins.

Well only about 5 for the boy results fit me, were as 11 girl ones fit me, but im having a boy
