Hiya hun,
At your 1st appointment tbh it's pretty simple & boring, Leaving alot of 1st timers feeling a little fed up to say the least so my main advice is don't go expecting much.
They usually take your name/addy & any contact details, Work out how far along you or could be. Some places take bloods early on , But most don't at this appointment.
They may make an appointment to come to your home & finish off filling in the paperwork, like if there is any twins in the family, she will ask about certain family medical history & whether this is your 1st pregnancy. Nothing much else is done at this appointment, They don't usually go into your choice of births so soon but you are more then fine to bring it up. Providing towards labour time you have no complications then i don't see why you can't have a home birth hun, Some midwives will try urge you towards a hospital birth but i don't think you have to, Again unless there is medical probs to advise against if you get me,but they usually go on about labour much further on in your preg.
They might do a urine sample test, weigh you, check blood pressure too x

hi lov, as dizzymoo said 1st appointment is rather boring usually lasts about an hr, although i suppose it depends on ur mw, wen i fell pregnant last april i got askd about my views on breast feeding n allsorts, wen i said id breast fed my 1st n 2nd child who r now 22 & 13 the mw asked if id be interested in going to meetings n talking to young mums-to- be, about the advantages etc, it's been along time expected to be treated like a 1st time mum again, take someone with you, good luck sure all will be fine xx
