Thanks for all your replies ladies.
We get 2 x 2hours at the local childrens centre through H&ER. If I was under the community care for York I would get 6 x 1 hours at the hospital. Once again living in the area I do makes things complicated!

I'm NHS Lothian too and got the 20 week scan although I think they only brought them in around xmas time and they council you about the scan first and IMO try and talk you out of it. The rest of Scotland have been doing them for years it's just NHS Lothian who are backward!!! I happen to know that even prior to them doing them as routine if you stamped your feet loud enough, pointed out that they are recommended by national guidlines and threatened to write to your MP then you would get one. I think it's pretty shocking that they got away without doing them for so long though.

I'm under Kent and Medway PCT

Went to docs at 5 weeks
Blood tests and scan at EPU at 6 weeks for spotting
Booking in appt with midwife at 10 weeks (at Surestart centre)
Nuchal scan originally booked too late had to get them to change it, still didn't have it till 13 + 4 weeks
Consultant appointment at 17 weeks, (should have been 16 weeks, and consultant was terrible)
Had a GTT done early due to glucose in urine
20 week scan done at 22 + 2 days
Saw midwife again at 23 weeks - asked to change consultant and she arranged this for me
Consultant again at 25 weeks
Midwife again at 26 weeks, booked parentcraft classes (3 2 hour sessions including a tour of the hospital starting when I'm 34 weeks)
Second GTT test - diagnosed with gestational diabetes, saw the diabetic clinic a few days later
Consultant at 28+3 days (today) now have to see her every 2 weeks
Next midwife appointments are at 32, 34, 36 weeks then i would see her every week until due date but I will be being induced at 38 weeks because of diabetes.
Will also being having additional growth scans at 28 and 34 weeks

I've found that the service was a bit poor in the beginning but then this is my first so I had loads of questions/worries and they dont really monitor you closely until after 20 weeks here.

My midwife is lovely and I've always had the same one. No home visits yet, that will be after the baby is born. My original consultant was absolutely awful and said some horrible things, my midwife told me that I'm not the first and after hearing about some very poor care that he gave my friend when she was in labour I asked to change and the midwife did this no problem.

The new consultant is brilliant, very thorough, always gives me time for questions etc.

I've received excellent care since 20 weeks +, my only gripe is the waiting times. All of my scans and appointments have been late in being booked because the hospital is so overrun, and the clinics always run annoyingly late, my consultant was running over an hour late today and my scans have always been at least 45 mins late on the day.

Dom85 I always push to get the first appointment of the day it saves on delays and if something crops up they can deal with it that day. I needed an urgent doppler scan on leg and was fitted in within 30 minutes.

I had

Booking in appt at 6 weeks
Dating scan at 8 weeks (didn't know how many weeks pregnant I was)
Dating scan at 12 weeks
MW appt at 16 weeks
Anaomaly scan at 22 weeks
MW appt at 25, 28, 31, 34, 36 weeks (and potentially 38, 40, 41)

I only got up to my 36 week MW appt as I was induced at 37 weeks due to cholistatus (sp) so was under the care of the hospital frm then on.

I live in Mid Cheshire. I saw a different MW each time and had it not been for the labour ward MW's (who were AMAZING) I'd have a very poor view of MW's based on my experiences during this pregnancy!!
