Who's had Swine Flu?

I know a few ladies here have had the horrible virus so I thought maybe we could keep a tally on numbers/symptoms/treatements etc?

With all the scare mongering going on in the news, I think it would be reassuring to hear from the ladies who have had this whilst pregnant and are going on to recover with no side effects.

Thinking of all those ladies and wishing them a speedy recovery

I'm in the throes now - on Relenza and pretty damn miserable tbh.

It doesn't help that my oldest friend was due to visit me this weekend. She's travelled from miles away to see me and has decided to stay elsewhere and not see me (fair enough, she doesn't want to get sick).

I had planned to tell her about my pregnancy this weekend - she's the last person I needed to tell before going completely public. I was always worried about it as she's made it clear, for years, that she hates kids and if I ever had one she'd never stay with me again.

So I told her on the phone. Her reaction was.. "Really?", not said in the most delighted tone!... and that was it - no congratulations, change subject, talk a bit more about how annoyed she is to have travelled down only for me to be sick.

To add a bit more info - she found out last year (after always saying she would never have children, how much she hates them etc) that she was going through the menopause early. She was quite upset.

So I spent quite some time comforting her.

Now I don't know if she's angry with me for being pregnant - or upset or what.

But I feel I've lost a friend.

My oldest friend.

Yes I have had it - a couple of months ago when the procedure was all very different. We had doctors come round to our house in full protective gear to take swabs and give meds etc. I did have it pretty badly and I am not so sure that the NHS has it right that anyone with a temp and 1 or more of other symptoms automatically have it as I felt pretty crappy, but I understand why they have to do it. We went through lots of tests and our blood is still be taken now to test the vaccine on or something! Anyway, good news is that I recovered after a week, although felt really tired and worn out for a good couple of weeks after - and had about 4 weeks off work in all due to it. But now I feel fine and baby is doing fine. Obviously I won't know for sure until he is here in a few weeks but scan and usual tests show no problems.

my boyfriend was the same, had doctors sent to his house, i also wasnt allowed out of the house for 7 days. They dont seem to be bothered as much about it not as it is trating not preventing the spread. This was in the earlier days of swine flu though i know its all gone slighty more laid back now.
