Natural remedies for pregnancy?

Hi ladies,

I'm not pregnant (but was last year and run a pregnancy business) and was just wondering what types of natural remedies or alternative therapies everyone used during pregnancy?

Did you have heartburn - if so, what worked for you?
Morning sickness?
Did you use raspberry leaf tea and do you believe it works?
Was baby late...did you try anything to induce labour naturally?

Many thanks in advance
Sharon x

I really didn't have many lousy symptoms at all, until right at the very end. I did use ginger to help at the very beginning when I felt mildly woozy.
And while it may not be herbal, the very best relief for the two bad colds I got during pregnancy was my neti pot to flush out the sinuses. Sounds gross, I know, but it really worked and the relief fromthe pressure in my head was very welcome!
I used RLT, but I don't know if it did anything, really, as I needed an induction. I think those labour stimulants overrode any pleasant uterus-prepping effects of RLT!

Hi amylw1, why can't you use lavender? Did you use ginger root, or ginger tea or biscuits for sickness? Are you using Raspberry leaf tea?

Sarahkka, sounds like you did everything right it's a shame you had to be induced. How overdue were you? How long did you use RLT for?

How about anyone else? What are your thoughts on RLT? Or natural pregnancy?

I was 10 days over and no where near delivery. I really trusted the doctors at my maternity clinic and I know that my dates were right, so no chance of an unnecessary intervention. After I delivered, the nurse showed me how the placenta was starting to degrade from age. While it wasn't what I had hoped for with labour, I think the induction was medically astute and a good decision on my doctors' part.
I used a blend from Trditional Medicinals called pregnancy tea and then 2-3 cups RLT a day in the last trimester. I think that's what I did, anyway. I can't remember exactly!

Better luck next time Sarahkka. Still the end result is just as amazing (Simon is gorgeous!!) Maybe try RLT on it's own in dried form next time, because then you can be sure you're getting the quantity right. You should start between 30 & 32 weeks with a cup a day and build up to 3 to 4 cups a day by 36 weeks. Each cup should be brewed with a teaspon of the dried Raspberry leaf. If you don't like the taste, add some honey! yum!
