What helps? They hurt so bad its a nightmare! Foot spa? I will get one but not if they are a waste of cash!

Hmmm, I've always heard that a pedicure can induce labor, so I'd stay away from that.

My feet are so swollen at night now that it is just not funny, I can't even fit into my shoes!

But what seems to work for me is to drink lots of fluids and just try and stay off my feet during the day, even elevate them if possible.

Why are foot spas not recommended during pregnancy?

I think there are two reasons for the 'warning' attached to this sort of product. One is that many foot spas are designed or promoted to be used with aromatherapy oils, and some aromatherapy oils are contraindicated in pregnancy, in this case, it would probably be safe to use the foot-spa without adding the particular oils The second is that there is some concern that the physical action of the spa on the feet may be similar in some ways to the firm massage or pressure applied during reflexology - and certain reflexology techniques may cause inappropriate contractions of the uterus. Providing you use the spa as directed and stop doing so if you find the massaging effect at all uncomfortable, there shouldn't be any problems. I would, however, advise you to be very careful if you choose to use aromatherapy oils during pregnancy - with or without a foot spa. Pure oils can have powerful effects and few have been subjected to any sort of rigorous research. If you would like to use aromatherapy oils during your pregnancy, consult a registered practitioner of aromatherapy or a midwife with a special interest in this alternative therapy. If you are still worried about using your foot spa, or if you have had any problems in this pregnancy, you might feel better checking with your doctor or midwife or contact the manufacturers directly and ask what they recommend for your peace of mind.

So i think its ok as long as you dont use oils

Hmmm maybe best thinking of something else but no idea what lol!

You can get those special slippers that massage your feet while you walk around .. they are supposed to be really good. Im not 100% sure where you get them from .. i just had a look online but couldnt find a good link to any.

Maybe worth a try if you havent already?
