Panic Attacks?

Are panic attacks more common during pregnancy?

I never had one in my life until I became pregnant. Since conceiving in July I've had atleast 3. My last one being a few days ago. I've been feeling pretty down ever since - don't want to do anything, go anywhere, or talk to my OH about anything. I've been feeling a lot better today, though.

I think so, i suffered with them after my last baby, try your best not to worry about stuff and make sure you get plenty of relaxation time, you find yourself having to be very responsible when your expecting that comes a lot more naturally to some than others xxx

try not to worry

I've been having them since about half way through my pregnancy! Some weeks have been worse then others. I had them for a couple of months around 4 years ago (another anxious time in my life moving in with boyfriend/dad died) so i know they go but its harder when you are pregnant to not get emotional about it! Having said that, you need to put things into perspective, if anytime in your life you were going to be anxious is now. my advice to you is probably easier said than done but try not to evaluate your negative thoughts or worries, if you don't have a negative thought you won't panic! Your mind can only think of 1 thing at a time so try and have a lovely visualisation prepared, something like, your honeymoon (if you are married) or an amazing time in your life... i did speak to a doctor about it recently and ask if you can take herbal stuff, they said yes to one but then i started feeling anxious about taking herbal stuff so stopped. Maybe you should ask a doctor about it and see what they say, if they have any recommendations on herbal remedies to relax please let me know.

I had one the other day. Which is out of the normal for me to have them at home. Just stressed out lately...

I haven't had one since being pregnant, but I've had 2 before. Scariest moments of my life. I literally thought I was dying of a heart attack or stroke. I had some stress in my life, and I guess I didn't notice it until I had the attack. I would go to the doctor, see if there's anything he/she can suggest. Other than that, try to relax. I know it's easier said than done. Just like Allie said, try not to evaluate negative thoughts or worries.

Take care

xx
