Hi Everybody and thanks for letting me join!

I wish we had nice weather here, it is grey and cold and it has been sleeting on the snow so every ting will be slushy.

We had my parents here last week and went skiing it was fab but means I spent loads and have a mountain of washing to do now. I also have loads of phonecalls and post to sort. This afternoon I plan on doing some work on the website I am currently building for the vets I work at. Feel free to check it out at www.animaleye-tierpraxis.com please remember its not finished yet but I'd love any feedback as its my first website I've made.

On the good side I got my pram delivered, the first was faulty (and we made it worse ) but the replacement is here, just need to work out returning the original. I love it and will post some pics in my journal later on.

I'm going to the next town along the lake to do my shopping today because somebody told me they have a 2nd hand baby shop so I want to check it out. Fingers crossed for some goodies....

Hope everybody has a good day.

Hi Nutty, it went ok, she asked me quite a bit about the pregnancy and baby stuff and wasn't annoying much LOL!!

I have to go into hospital cos I will need IV antibiotics for my floppy heart valve, I think that rules out water births too. Pain relief - I am going to avoid pethidine as I had it with DD and didn't like the out of control feeling it gave me, I really don't want an epidural either as the thought terrifies me so I am going to try to manage just with gas and air, DD was 9 lb 10 and apart from the pethidine that is all I had with her so fx !! How about you - any ideas yet?

my mum has a leaky heart valve too...if thats the same thing?? a shame about the water birth!!! ive always wanted to try one....but dont know if i could!!! i cant stand baths at the minute....all the sloshy feeling makes me feel queasy!!! and what if u pushed real hard n farted!!!! just think of all those bubbles!!! LMAO

yes i wouldnt have pethidine, it makes baby sleepy too. I had an epidural with Kai, the bloke was so dozy looking, his top and sleeves were 3 sizes too big and my mum couldnt stop laughing at him...he looked way too dippy to be an anesthetist!! he hit my spine first which made me jump....he just barked at me to keep still and the midwife shouted back at him coz she knew he had done it wrong!! the second time it didnt hurt at all....the only problem was is that it only numbed my right leg (just one of those things u have to put up with if it goes wrong!) i couldnt have gas and air either....i cant stand feeling sick, so i wasnt even willing to try it!! so seeing as i got through my first labour stuck to a bed due to the epidural, and a numbed leg! im hoping not to have any pain relief this time....OH thinks im crazy!!

9lb 10!!! thats considered big these days!!! all the newborn clothes are about 9lb....but lots of babys are being born at 6lb...classing them as tiny baby!! i took a tiny baby size, and newborn size to the hospital. and even though Kai was 6lb 13...he fitted better in tiny baby.

Hope all are having a good day.

Went to the 2nd hand baby shop but its only open tuesdays and fridays so will have to try again another time.

I am way behind what I wanted to do today, my MIL called she was chatting for an hour.....

As for births I'm hoping for a hospital birth with minimal pain releif; for some reason I am terrifeid of having an epidural, I kid you not I find it more frightenting to think of than actually giving birth.
A water birth just doesn't appeal either, sounds messy and unhygienic although I know it isn't.

Joey....the epidural didnt hurt at all once he got it in the right place.....u cant see whats going on either. u sit on the edge of the bed with a chair under ur feet, then ur instructed to lean forward as much as u can. then they just insert the needle n that it!! (i just happened to have a dozy bloke who got it in the wrong place the first time!!) then ur back will feel cold for a while, then finally u should feel numb. it does slow labour down, but ive heard that it is a total god send when it works....i know one woman hu just laid watching tv whilst she pushed....she had no pain whatsoever!!

Nutty re: the bubbles

Joey the thought of epidurals makes me cringe too, I hate needles and I don't think I could stand it!!
