Blood tests aren't compulsory. I have a phobia of syringes and the midwife said it would be safer not to have the tests than to put the baby under the stress of me getting worked up about them. I was supposed to have them at my 8 week appointment but didn't. I'm getting hypnotised soon though so fingers crossed I'll be able to get them done at my 16 week appointment.

Morning ladies

As far as I know none of the blood tests are compulsory? I expect the mw will enlighten me on Saturday, i just hope she doesn't try and talk me into having any!

I feel in limbo too cos nothing is really happening at the mo, my next scan is not untill 25th March - feels like an age away! Mind you I can move to 2nd tri on Friday so that is something to look forward to

Is everyone busy today, I am bored at work already!!!

I'm just waiting till it's time to head off for my scan! I'm very nervous but excited at the same time.

golcarlilly....i think ive heard of that film....never seen it though!!!
as for showing....i look about 6 months lol my fiance has bet me £800 that im having twins.....lord knows where im guna find that sort of money if i lose!!! lol

i havnt had any blood tests whatsoever yet, my hospital appointment for going thru the green notes, getting weighed, etc isnt till March!!!

the midwifes said there is a massive baby boom....they had seen 16 people in 2 hours the day i went down!! they said the hospitals are behind because there are so many, and that i may have to wait till week 16 for my first scan!!! thankfully i received a letter that said i was going alot sooner! but they wouldnt be doing my notes the same day. they said i had an appointment for March where they would do my checks!!

Back from scan. Was fab! Baby has 2 arms, 2 legs, a healthy looking heartbeat and was wriggling away. So happy and relieved.

Hope the blood tests weren't too bad JW

glad scan went well!!

try and get some pics up when u can! well had my bloods - nearly fainted i was so embarrassed lol. she said it was taking ages for the blood to come out and if i need any more bloods done to lie down next time. couldnt believe how much blood she took from me! i got weighed and everything as well an confirmed my due date is def 7th august.

jays...dont worry bout it...my bro faints at EVERYTHING lol last time he went to the dentist, they had to phone an ambulance...he fainted in the chair lol so u have nothing to be embarassed about!! glad everything went ok for u.
