why cant health professionals do what they say they will???

grrrr! apologies in advance girls, i just gotta rant!!

so after having not heard a peep about my early scan for almost 2 weeks after seeing the doctors, i tried to contact my GP's secretary for no less than 3 days. phone would just ring and ring and ring and the two times i managed to get through to front desk they told me she was away from her desk. i finally gave up and phoned the maternity unit instead.

the lady i spoke to was lovely and confirmed that they had in fact never recieved my referral letter, what a surprise!! same thing happened with Jack, and to a couple of my friends. the nice lady said she would arrange for a midwife called Beth to call me today to discuss everything and make a time for my booking in appt. I asked if i needed to call anyone with regards to the scan to check viability (i explained about the miscarriages and she was very sympathetic) and she said not to worry yet, just discuss it with Beth when she calls you.

So i waited in all day today for a call and it never fecking arrived. i mean, its half 4 now so its unlikely to be happening.

FFS why cant people just keep their promises??? i mean, im not all that angry with the midwife, the midwifery unit in our town is really small and intimate and i know they are very busy at the moment so i can understand why she may not have been able to fit a phone call in if she was delivering a baby or two all day, but i am so fucking furious with the doctors surgery for messing me around like this when they know what i have been through and how anxious i am. it is on my notes that i am prone to depression and stress-related issues and that i have had two recent losses, how hard is it to send a letter???

Just feel like i have been waiting for ages now and i just wish someone would care about how i am feeling and make an effort to do something about it. The communication between the various health services around here is useless. a friend of mine was almost hospitalised during her last pregnancy because of low iron, they did tests and didnt tell her that her results were dangerously low for over a month even though they said they would contact her if anything was amiss. and then, when this same friend of mine went into labour and turned up at the home from home midwifery unit she planned to give birth in, they told her she couldnt labour there because a swab they did when she was 26 WEEKS PREGNANT showed positive for strep B!! no one thought to warn her or actually TELL HER about her result so she was whisked up to the big scary hospital with no warning or time to mentally prepare herself

thank you hun i really wouldnt mind the wait, i just wish someone would tell me *how long* i had to wait. Just making the booking in appointment would make me feel better, you know? It would make all of this feel more real.

Glad they finally got in touch. This pisses me off too. My midwife was all 'if you need any support during pregnancy just ring or text' and I text and she just ignores me! So frustrating!
