Contraception - When?

Seems im still suffering from a bit of pregnancy brain. When can you start taking contraception again? Do you have to wait until after your period?

Im dying to get back on something asap as i dont want any little suprises, one is plenty for me for the time being

Thanks girls, see we dont get 6 weeks check ups around here. The antenatal care is brilliant but the postnatal care is well, somewhat lacking. So i'm going to have to make an appointment to get a prescription. I havent used contraception for a good 2/3 years so im a bit rusty lol

I have the HV coming out on Friday (crap thats tomorrow) so i will speak to her about it then. Id rather not wait until my period comes if i can i dont really want to rely on condoms too much

No one told me to wait for my period or not, just to make sure we used condoms if we hadn't sorted anything else out.

I waited untill my period though, and got my implant fitted.

keely.
