Need advice about LO sleeping!

Just wondering at what point I should be able to leave my LO go to sleep on her own? She'll be 2 weeks old on Friday and I don't want her to always need to go to sleep either on the boob or being held/nursed. A few times she's fallen asleep on her own in her cot (like just now - woohoo) but generally she falls asleep feeding. I don't want to set up bad habits of her not being able to go to sleep on her own. Is it ok to leave her to go to sleep provided she is fed and burped etc?

Should I have done this from birth anyway? I feel awful because she's just so tiny and I want her to feel safe, but I'm really lost. Sometimes I think the cuddling is for my needs rather than hers!

Hope you can help me!

Well I think 2 weeks is a bit young TBH but to each there own , my son is now 6 months old and still gets his bed time bottle and a lil bum tapping before putting him to bed , by the time hes done feeding and bum tapping hes drowsy so i put him to bed with his mobile ..

You can start this when ever your ready , but i think mabey when shes a bit older say 1-2 months when she can look around to keep busy and fall sleep

Dont worry hun , right now she only needs you and lots of comfort after all coming into this world is a scary thing lol

when you put her to bed try to swaddle her so she wont feel like theres no one around

I leave her to sleep... I feed and hold her for a few minutes, and as long as she is relaxed and happy I leave her. I can hear her on the monitor so if she sounds upset I go pick her up.

I have set up bad habits of not being able to sleep on their own. Thus, our co-sleeping nightmare! I joke we may get the boys out of our bed by the time they are 12! haha..

GL maybe her own small crib close by but not out of your room? bassinet / co-sleeper

From birth Kiara was put to bed after every bottle she had until she got to the point where she didn't need much sleep. In the past she has fell asleep ALOT being held or in her chair..Im not saying your bubs will be the same but now when anyone puts Kiara in her cot she would SCREAM until she got picked up again. We are now still trying to get her used to sleeping in her cot herself.
Just a little something I have experienced =) Good Luck xxx

I think this can be true - when I put Hebe down after her last feed she's drowsy but I know she's awake and I feel a bit bad that she's on her own!

This is exactly what I do.

I couldn't leave London on her own to sleep until about a week ago I guess. She wouldn't sleep in her bassinet or anywhere but on my chest, but we swaddle her now and put her down in her bassinet or in her swing and she goes to sleep all on her own. My big girl
