Unhappy

Am I a bad mum?

Hi guys,

Well some of you know the way I'm feeling lately, recently the thought that Jasmine is better off without me has been really strong and I don't know what to do anymore, I'm trying so hard to understand why I was so lucky to have such an amazing baby girl but I feel like its all a dream and il wake up and shes not there anymore, its doing my head in! I even had thoughts of putting her up for adoption so she will have that perfect life, I don't even want to and I could never do that but why am I getting these feelings, I saw the doctor and he made out like im exsaggerating (sp?) and I came back feeling 10times worse, I have 3 hours sleep a night so I look and feel awful, Rich wasn't able to come home this weekend so I have no help and everythings getting on top of me, especially with the pregnancy at the moment, my consultation is on the 28th and im struggling to accept everything thats happening

So sorry you're still feeling like this. Please think about seeing another doctor - I can't believe he would make you feel as if you're exaggerating, especially considering 1 in 3 women suffer from PND. I think most of us would be finding it tough coping without support and a young baby, so you are in no way a bad mum...you obviously love Jasmine very much, and she would never be better off without you

Is there anyone nearby you could stay with for a few days just for a bit of support? x x

your not a bad mum sweetheart, youve got some hard times atm and your pelvis is still hurting which is prob taking its toll a little...

jasmine has a fantastic mummy, and we can all see by the pics you post that she is a gorgeous hapy contented little girl..

as for the waking up and its all a dream/cant believe she is your thoughts, i get them too i look at Rhiannon sometimes and wonder how im ever going to give her the life i feel she deserves but i think thats a parent thing, the whole parents wanting whats best for their child syndrome...

maybe you could ask HV if they know of anyone who you can chat with, maybe youll feel more at ease once youve spoken to someone, but we're all on here if you wanna chat...
you can PM me anytime you want
xxx

But it doesn't sound as if it's the lack of support. Sorry I keep going on about it, but it does sound a lot like PND, and there's so much help out there for it. Your doctor sounds like an idiot though. Can you have a word with your HV about how you're feeling? x x

If it was PND surely I'd feel this way all the time, some days I feel fine though whilst other days I hate my life
