i worry he'll get ill

he looks so small and delicate, and lately i've had this horrid feeling that he'll get sick or something bad will happen to him. I'm feeling constantly worried or uneasy adn every time he crys i wonder if it's a sign?

It started the other day... we'd had dinner and baby was asleep in his bouncer. i decided to go through and check on him. He'd fallen asleep with his arms sticking out adn up into the air. I noticed his fingers were white and i held his hands and they were stone cold. So i wobbled his arms hard in a panic and he didnt wake up. Finally when i picked him up he wriggled and gurgled, but until that point i was so scared that he was dead!! he mustve been in such a deep sleep. and cold and white hands was so frightening!!! i was terrified and sat and cuddled him for hours after.

any tips on how to stop worrying? feeling a bit like a child myself...scared. despite being 31!!

It's all a part of motherhood that starts with pregnancy and lasts your whole life through.

I remember watching my babies sleep and they looked so still that I had to check and make sure their stomach was going up and down so I knew they were breathing.

If you figure it out, let me know. I worry as well, it is just part of being a mommy!

I'm the same...if he's too quiet in his cot I'll have to watch him or feel his chest until I'm sure that he's breathing. The lighting in our lounge makes him look really blue too so I'm constantly checking that he's ok when he's asleep. It's hard not to worry, but it's definitely got better now and I don't find I'm spending quite so much of my time thinking about it, so I'm sure it'll get a bir easier for you too. And babies' hands and feet are normally quite cold, so don't let that worry you x

your not alone...
i still check she is breathing about 10 times a night before i go to sleep
i still check on her when she has just had food and laying down so she isnt choking on vomit
i still fuss and put on/pull off blankets during the night
i still yell at my family if i think they are handling her too rough
i still check her every 5 mins for a rash
oh and she is 5.5months..
it doesnt end, and you still check but your a little more relaxed about it,
your still learning about him and his ways, when they get familiar to you hun swhen you get a little less paranoid..
