Dummies

Was just wondering if any of you mummys give your lo's a dummy? I wanted to give Grace one as I've heard they're a good comforter but I'm worried that if she gets used to it and sleeps with it in, if it falls out of her mouth she will wake up screaming blue murder! Any suggestions?

Mia has one. We discovered the power of the pacifier the first night in the hospital!
She doesn't want it all the time now. She is too busy smiling and making funny noises.
I suggest that you don't teach her to sleep with it because she will wake up a few times if it falls out until she is in deep sleep. But don't rule it out for sure, it can be a life saver sometimes.

Anna doesn't have one. Doubt she'd want one: She won't take a bottle or anything like that. She has a teething dummy but tbh she much prefers a good munch on a clean finger or, well, anything else within reach that she can stick in her mouth! lol

Josh use to love the dummy as well as mummy!!!! It's truly magical. I agree on not giving it at night. We use to, but I'd wake up a few times when I heard it fall because I knew Josh would be screaming for it.

We've bought them, figured if she likes them we'll use them, although now that I think about it (thank you for pointing this out ) it's not a good idea to let her sleep with one, as I have a great niece who wakes up every time her paci falls out of her mouth!

This time around I will be trying harder to use them. My others didn't like them but I didn't try hard enough and they used my boobs for a dummy at times. LOL

I didn't want to use a dummy but we quickly discovered that he wanted to suck on something for a comforter to make him calmer We also found that if he sleeps with it in he wakes when it falls out

Kira has one i gave her one when she was two weeks old, even though hubby was against it i turned around to him you don't deal with her so shut up. my hubby is the one that gave kira the dummy at night now she wakes for it at 5 and 6 but she does go back with it, going to try and get out of her having at night but then i think it will easier for her to have at night when she is older then when i'm trying to get rid of it during the day. sorry rambling now

Seth has one at nighttimes to get him off to sleep but he tends to spit it out just before he drops off.
