I'm Currently Feeling: 


My midwife seemed really surprised too - Sam was 8lb 13oz when he was born, 8lb 14oz 4 days later, and had gained another 5oz in 5 days after that (I'm breastfeeding too). It did slow down though - he's a normal weight for his age now at 3 1/2 months

I agree with turbo_mom... your doc will put baby on a growth chart and will keep track of everything... make sure though if you are breastfeeding, they use the breastfeeding growth chart, not the standard one.

But even if your baby doesn't seem to be doing well on the growth chart, if they seem to be doing well, and are happy - that's the best indicator.

Izzie was 10 lbs. 8 oz at birth. 9 lbs. 8 oz when we left hospital (5 days) at two weeks she was 10 lbs. 1 oz and now (4 weeks) she is 11 lbs. 9 oz.

Don't know why midwife was surprised cause it looks like a lot of babies don't loose any weight.
She's obviously thriving well and she was just little so it's good she's putting on plenty.

My LO dropped in the first few days, but from week 2-3 he put on more than double what is normal so all looking good.

Birth weight: 7lbs

25 days: 8lbs 15.5oz
