Blood loss at 14 days post partum

Sorry this is TMI but my blood loss wasn't too bad over the past few days - brown and not very heavy as it should be for this stage I think? Then today on 2 occasions it's been bright red, fresh blood and very heavy with some medium sized clots. I've soaked 2 maternity towels within minuits today.

I had sudden bright red blood a 6 days ago too with a large blood clot but was told it's normal with breast feeing and was probably my uterus shrinking back but at 14 days I'm a little concerned.

I don't know how normal this is... I stopped bleading after a week or so. Perhaps best to ring a midwife and ask them - just to be on the safe side and put your mind at rest? Even if you've been discharged from your local midwifery unit they will still be available and happy to answer any questions you may have.

I still have occasional red blood, but the majority of discharge is either brown or pink. It's so annoying though, I am sick of wearing stupid pads.

Mine was brown for a few days and has now went back to spotting pink/red again, I feel like it will never end. I would say if your soaking a pad in minutes maybe you are doing to much. I know the doctor said bleeding an excessive amount could mean doing to much to soon. I say call your MW and see what she thinks if it persists.

mine was on and off like that for a while. It got worse if I did too much the day before. its always worth meantioning it to your MW when you see her. If you get clots that are massive, I would give her a call, just to be safe.

Be thankful for the brown days, I cant wait for mine to turn brown! Sometimes mine goes on and off like that but never brown. It just goes between light and medium bleeding.
