Tear, how long before it heals?

I've given birth since 8 days now and my tear doesn't seem to be healing! I still feel incredibly sore down there and it still hurts when I walk or sit. I'm cleaning it everytime I go to the bathroom + change pads. I also dry it with a hairdryer everytime I get out of the shower.

Is there a cream or something I can put down there to help it heal? Or is it better just to leave it alone?

i was cut and had lots of stitiches and its only been the past couple of days that ive started to feel more comfortable down there, so i would give it another couple of days and hopefully the pain will start to subside. i would prob advise to leave alone and not mess to much.

Hiya, I can't directly answer your question as I didn't tear so don't really know - however I did have grazing and that took a good few weeks for me to stop stinging when I went to the loo / walked / sat... so with a tear I should imagine it would be even longer - be patient, hun - And have you tried pouring walm water 'down there' from a jug while you pee? It really helped me with alleviating that HORRIBLE stinging feeling.

Hope it gets better soon, hun

All those are good suggestions! Do you think you are still bleeding from the tear or just bleeding in general. If you discern you are still bleeding from the tear, I'd have the doc take a look at the site. Otherwise, you'll know you're almost there when you start ITCHING down there like mad. No, it's not a yeast infection, it's the healing/stitches/new scar.

This sounds so bad, but I can honestly NOT WAIT, till I have a sore bottom from giving birth.

I've posted this a couple times for ladies who have incisions/ tear repairs. This was truly the only thing that kept me from bawling all the time from the pain. I know it sounds weird, and it was something my mom suggested (so I was a little skeptical) but it works like a charm. You can add lavendar essential oil or a drop of tea tree oil to the witchhazel if you want too.

Quote:
Frozen fingercots wrapped in guaze that has been soaked in witch hazel.

Fingercots are just fingers cut out of latex gloves rolled up (they look like mini condoms) Just fill with water, tie with rubber band and freeze these. You can get fingercots in any pharmacy.

While you're at the pharmacy getting fingercots get witch hazel and guaze.

When your fingercots are frozen, wrap these in the guaze soaked in the witch hazel, lay in your pad so they lay against your stitches.

Part of the pain is some of the swelling you have, and the cool will help with that, plus the cool will help numb the area and soothe it.

You can reuse the fingercots, just throw dirty guaze away and rinse the little fingercot balloon. Then refreeze.

These were my salvation for baby 1.

I've been putting an ice pack in my pad with witch hazel pads on top of it. I also spray myself with warm water every time I use the restroom then spray with deromplast spray~ I honestly don't know what I would have done if the hospital wouldn't have given me all those goodies.
