at a loss..

can anybody tell me whats the "norm" when it comes to getting your period again after giving birth???

i had Rhiannon on feb 1st by c-section, i had post partum bleeding for about 6 weeks which would have taken me roughly to march14-18th, but since then...zip/nada/nothing OH and i havent been fruity (no energy lol) so i know im def not pregnant...

i just wanted to know if this sounds normal or if its something i should get checked out?!?!?

Things can take a little while to go back to normal, especially if you're breastfeeding (are you?) because the hormones released by breastfeeding delay your period from coming back...

It doesn't sound anything to worry about to me, hun

Do you chart fertility signs like cervical mucous?

How were your cycles pre pregnancy? Long? Predictable?

before i got p/g my cycle was around 32-37 days, with a few missed ones maybe twice a year (dr's checked my thyroid and bloods and they were fine) on my 12 week scan the sonogropher did ask me if my dr had mentioned a cyst on my ovaries but then nothing came of it (ie. it wasnt mentioned in any of the other scans i had, and i had 5!!)

From the info you gave it sounds completely normal to me.

Six weeks of bleeding is pretty typical, so if you've been bleeding-free for the last 40-some days I would be expecting a period sometime in the next week or two. (I have never had a missed or longer than normal cycle though).

The cyst may have gotten better through your pregnancy... it might be something to check out if you haven't.

Good luck!

It took me over 8 weeks to get a period after Simon was born. My doctor was actually telling me to get back on the pill to avoid getting pregnant. Little did he know that I was using the safest contraception ever... abstinence! Too tired to be "fruity" as you say it!
