I had a natural birth, without any pain relief exactly on edd.

my waters broke 18 hours before giving birth, we went to hospital to get it checked and I chose to wait until contractions are coming on naturally, but from then on had to go to hospital every six hours for check ups on baby's wellbeing. at the time, we went to hospital for the second check up, I could stay in already. they monitored a potential problem with baby's heartbeat and therefore mw thought she needs to speed things up, gave me a sweep without my agreement and two and a half hours later bubs was out with three pushes!

My first was an emergency c-section due to him being 'face presentation' and in distress, my second was a normal birth!

Natural birth without pain relief or anything else, as I had hoped for. OH got the doctor's ok to deliver Simon himself.

Around 2-2.5 hours of pushing but well worth it! Got a few stiches, don't know how many but I recall this as being the most annoying intervention ever!!!

I actually loved giving birth and hope to do so again in a little while...

#1 27 hour labour; gas/air + pethidine; which ended in emergency c/s at 35 weeks
#2 3 hour labour gas/air 1 stitch normal delivery at 35 weeks
#3 waters broke at 8pm and dd2 was born at 9.15 1 1/2 hour labour, no stitches; gas/air; normal delivery at 31 weeks
#4 waters broke at 27 weeks, labour stopped until 28 weeks, 3 hour labour; no stitches; gas/air; normal delivery at 28 weks + retaining of placenta and needed to go to theatre for manual removal of placenta and d/c
#5 1 1/2 hour labour, waters broke as bubs no.5 entered the world in one go ( yes in one go, head shoulders the lot!) ....yikes! therefore loads of stitches but normal delivery at 35 weeks with gas/air
