How long until the pain/swelling went away for u?

Heya have got dr app for tomoz, i had jake jus over 2 weeks ago, and had 4 stiches, 2 tears, 1 seems to feel fine, and i refused to look or feel them as i knew i wouldnt like what i discovered. But last few days pain got more noticeable, i felt that area in the shower it doesn't feel right at all!! i know it should feel different but one side feels swollen other with the other stitch feels totally normal, doesn't feel like the stitching has been done right cos.. i can't find my flippin openin!!!! or did i have unrealistic expectations.... eeeek got major fear that they've sewn me up i know that's stupid but.... where's it gone! there's no hole argh put me in such a bad mood, scared to be honest

Off topic - and then this mornin bf got on my case about why will i not get undressed for bed/ready in mornin in front of him - maybe cos of the damage it did it did to body & confidence!?

so ladies how long til ur swelling went down? and di u feel pain like mine where it hurts to sit down or lie down or walk x

Things are probably going to feel sore and not quite right for another couple of weeks yet, although you should notice it starting to feel gradually better. Mine is still slightly uncomfortable from time to time now and I had LO 10wks ago and it was definitely sore to sit, walk and dry after bath/shower for around 5wks.

Men 'eh? sometimes they just don't get it! Try not to let it make you feel bad though, I'm sure it's just because he loves you tons, thinks you're gorgeous and can't wait to see you naked again.

I had three tears and felt horrifically swollen (I could only sit if I was on a rubber ring!!). I would say that it is only now that I am starting to feel "normal" (6 weeks later). My vaginal swelling went down properly by 4 weeks but my perineam still feels slightly raised. I am now applying gel to my bits as I feel like my tears have healed too tightly - Doctor said to apply to make the skin softer down there. Take Arnica tablets to help with any bruising you might have and try to bathe twice a day with 10 drops of Tea Tree Oil if you can. xx

When I had my 6 week check the doc said the stitches are perfect but still look really really painful (which they were). I had episiostomy and a deep tear and was so scared to feel down there, it felt so abnormal and I was hoping i wasn't stuck like that!

I felt pretty much normal down there after 8 weeks, which is also when I stopped bleeding.

went doctors today, forgot to mention i was on antibiotics from the birth for either an infection or retained parts of pregnancy inside me (passed golf ball sized clots for a week afterwards horrible feeling, got contractions with them as well) anyway doctor who saw me today gave me more antibiotics, said it looks red raw and swollen to one side, so indicating an infection, gotta go back in a week for a doc to take another look.

Good job i got a gorgeous happy baby boy out of this or i'd be bloody depressed lol!!!

hope all u ladies heal up nicely and quickly & thanks for the replies sometimes it just helps knowing your not alone! x x

maybe they meant 20 stitches some people do have loads and it could be that you've been real lucky n healed perfectly. i think i've irritated mine by having showers with lots of fragranced products, he said no more of those for now just warm baths nothing in them, before bed every night x
