bath aftet section

Does anyone know when its safe to have a bath with bubble bath after a section? I'm probably just being paranoid but I don't want to get an infection.

I was told to give my body, especially my scar 6 weeks to heal before taking a bath. It reduces the risk of infection.

I'd say at least 6 weeks to stop it getting infected. Try and get showers rather than baths for a while.

I had a bath the day after my op-your scar is covered anyway. I took the covering off around 5 days after and had bubble bath straight away-you can def have one now!

i was told not to have a bath and to keep it as dry as possible for as long as possible so quick showers every other day.

I suppose it's just luck of the draw.

I was told to bathe / shower twice a day to make sure the wound was cleaned regularly. No need to keep it dry.

I used lavendar bubble bath and savlon.

I got out of hospital after 8days and it was the first thing i did. With a cup of coffee I should think! I dont know about bubble bath, it's quite drying and irritating, but a few drops of bio oil in there is nice, if you mind you dont slip..

Really?! I was told to have a bath after 4 days to get the dressing off.

Then once they took my stitch out and saw the wound was closed ~I was told baths are fine...so that was 5 days post section.
