Blood pressure problems - 6 month on

I was just wondering if anyone who's babies are 5+ month is having blood pressure problems?

I had to take my BP yesterday at my doctors when i registered and it was 148/95 which is high. I know the consultant told me i would forever have problems with my bp but i didn't quite believe her.

Does anyone else have BP problems after having their babies?

didnt want to read and run but I'd love to hear about others experiences too....

I never had HBP before my pregnancy, but all the way through I had readings of 140-150/ 90-98 in the end I was induced at 38 weeks.

I got my BP checked last week and I 've got to back again tomorrow it was up at 155/95 and thats 10 weeks post birth, I just presumed it would go back to normal!!

Hi hun,

My LO will be 11 weeks old on Friday and my bp is still high.

I'm on more & stronger tablets now than when I was pg.

I thought mine would have started to settle by now but its still hovering around 150/100

xx

I had bp problems from 32 weeks on and ended up on labetalol and developed severe pre eclampsia during labour. My baby was born 5 weeks ago and I'm still on the labetalol but was hoping to get off it at some point soon. My doctor did hint though that it might take a while for this to happen.

My BP was fine before pregnancy, then at 30ish weeks went really high and then after birth was going down nicely, then went back up. I need to go back and check soon actually as I can tell its high still "sigh" x

another one here still on medication 3 frickin months later.

I've always had low BP but it went super high and then into pre eclampsia when pregnant and hasn't yet come down. I'm just over the upper limit of 'normatensive' but because my usual BP is so low they still want me on these meds which make me have hot ankles! Wtf

Ladies who still have high BP...

What is your BP now and how old is your baby?
Do you take any medication?
Have you been on it since birth or have you come off it and been put back on it?

Don't know if I'm too early on to post as baby is only 5 1/2 weeks old.

I'm taking my bp 2x a day and its around 125/75 at the moment but that's on 2 lots of 200mg labetalol a day.

I was on 2x 100mg labetalol for a week before the birth, had it intravenously during delivery until the epidural dropped my bp and was put on the 200mg 2x a day 2 days after the birth. I was readmitted to hospital 5 days after the birth as my bp had gone back up to 150/110 and the labetalol was increased to 3x a day for 2 weeks. I also had nifedapine in hospital as a one off to drop my bp.

I'm hoping when I see my doctor this week that the labetalol is decreased as I hate having to take it on an ongoing basis.
