Contraceptive injection and bleeding

So I had the injection two weeks ago and was told not to expect a period but maybe a little spotting. Well sorry for tmi but came on last night and it's not spotting but a full on period with even some clots! Should I be worried? Thanks.

Is this the first time you've gone on depo? I was like this when I first had it years ago...I bled heavily for a few days like a heavy period then spotted for about 6 weeks. Check with your doc if you're worried hun but I was exactly the same with no probs

Thanks hun. Yeah it's the first time. I've always used the pill before but was still breastfeeding at my check up hence the depo. I wouldn't mind but as she said not to expect it I was a bit surprised! I've got to go back in 2 weeks for kaidens jabs so I'll check then, thanks for reassurance xx

no probs hun, glad I can be of some reassurance - docs never told me it was a side effect either was really worried until I asked a couple of my friends, baffles me why they don't tell you these things before !!!
