Pre Birth SPD Sufferers.....

are u still suffering??

I had SPD pretty bad from about 16 weeks and until the end I could barely walk.
I had an emergency C section on 9th Jan and recovery after was good. I even went out shopping about a week after just to escape for an hour or so.
I was fine walking around then.
I was re admitted to hospital tues last week for an infection just above the c section wound and when I came out on the thursday evening I noticed a really sharp pain in my right butt cheek. it hurts to walk and feels like the muscles in my butt have just died.
this is still there and I have noticed over the last few days that my pelvis feels like it is ceasing up again as before.
I also cannot lie on my side or flat on my back, I have to sit propped up, but not sure if this is to do with the c section or the SPD.
I have noticed the times I have somehow in the night managed to get onto my side, that when I try and turn over in bed my back/pelvis locks then clicks. this is so annoying cause I want hubby back in bed with me. he got banished to the spare room about mid pregnancy and now I just miss him. especially now Jenny is here.
hes a really heavy sleeper too so when baby cries its me getting up to see to her, which I dont mind one bit, but if I am to heal from the c section......

Anyone else having difficaulties? or feel like they are suffering more?

I can honestly say that since having my little pink bundle my spd has cleared up. but to be honest i really think you should call your doctor or midwife if your still under their care as i believe you could stil have an infection or possibly have another underlying problem.

It really is better to be safe than sorry hunni, even though your probably feeling like me and dont want to admit you have anything wrong as it means more time getting better but if there is something wrong its better that they fix it now rather than you havingto deal with it for the rest of your life.

Good luck and congrats on your little pink bundle

Nope my SPD completely went, That and the itching, soon as i was in hospital on diamorphine i didnt feel either then after the c-section it was just gone.

I think its more likely to be your body still recovering from the c-section, sometimes i feel like my leg clicks n stuff but i dont think its the SPD.. its only sore for a moment really.. if your still in a lot of pain i would go to your GP and get checked over, x

my SPD hasn't cleared up was Very bad towards the end of the pregnancy. Took a couple of weeks to clear up after delivery and I kept my fingers crossed it wouldnt flare up again but soon enough the pain in my pelvis was waking me up during the night.

I've been told when you're body is gearing up for a period you produce similair hormones to those when pregnant causing the flare up, I've gone back on the contrceptive injection which stops ovulation altogether hoping that the SPD will stay away so far so good :-)

I'd defo suggest going to your GP and asking for a referral to a physio, they'll give you exercises to help strengthen your core muscles which should hopefully make it more bearable for you, in the meantime big hugs...I know how much mine hurts and mine is much milder then yours

I had a difficult delivery (shoulder dystocia) so the midwives had to put me in a certain position to push Evie out. My knees were practically touching my ears lol, and it caused ALOT of problems with my SPD afterwards. My left hip was constantly clicking and it was absolute agony to just sit down, let alone walk. It seemed to sort itself out when Evie was about 3 weeks old but it still occasionally hurts now.
