After lots of bad things happening after the birth of my baby girl i finally ended up in urinary retention and had to endure an indwelling catheter for 2 weeks whilst at home. Last friday it came out and i was able to pee properly without retaining the fluid which was fantastic.

what i want to know is for those of you that have had this happen to them, 1stly, was you paranoid about going into retention again as its not a very pleasant experience at all, 2ndly, DID you go back into retention again? 3rdly were you also restricted with the amount you was allowed to drink? and finally after wearing the catheter was you sore down below?

I'm extremely paranoid about goin into retention again to the point where its affecting my every day life. im frightened to drink anything, i'm in tears all the time and very snappy with my family and my down below where the catheter was is bright red and inflamed and swollen beyond belief. I have a uti as well but they arent sure i'm on the right antibiotics so its a waiting game til i get my results back. uti's also cause retention so i feel like i'm going round in circles

Also i think i'm ever so slightly incontinent now as i stink of wee this morning

I want this nightmare to be over

Please please if you have any experience of this, please help me

no one at all? i feel very alone in all this i feel like i'm the only one this has happened to and i feel so useless its unreal.
