Heavy bleeding (bright red blood) only took a few days, but the rest took maybe 2 or 3 weeks?

If you are concerned you could always call your doctor.

Took 7 weeks for me. I also had an emergency c-section. Beginning was very heavy and the last few weeks quite light. I tended to bleed more/heavy after doing too much activity too soon (going for walks, shopping, lifting stuff too heavy without thinking etc.)

I bled for about 5-6 days after my c-section and got my period when Ava was 9 wks old and I had it BAD. Maybe you'll bleed for a while but have a light period?

I bled for about 7 weeks! The blood was very heavy for the first few weeks, then slowly got lighter. I would bleed more while breastfeeding at first, and definitely bled more if I exerted myself too much. Also when I first got up in the morning there was always more bleeding than usual. I had a regular delivery though.
xx

It really does vary for everyone, I had only a couple of days bleeding after my emergency c-section, but my friend had like 3.5 weeks. I was told that typically you should bleed for less time after a c-section than people do following a vaginal delivery, but like I said every person is different.

My waters broke naturally but i ended up having an emergency c section, i lost 3.5 pints of blood during the surgery and then bled for 5 weeks after, very heavily for the first few weeks then normal and eventually it got lighter, my LO is 15 weeks now and i haven't had a period yet.

i bled for about 3 weeks, i also had emergency c-section. I think it really just varies from person to person but if you are worried about how heavy your bleeding is see gp, although they say if you have to change towel more than once an hr its too heavy so if you are changing just 3 times a day is prob ok
