Hi

I had my coil fitted yesterday and I am still bleeding - like a light period - does anyone know if this is normal?

I'm breastfeeding so it shouldn't be my actual period and I am just a bit concerned as to whether I should stil be bleeding now.

Hi hun

Yep, totally normal

I had mine fitted last thurs, still breastfeeding too, and bleeding very lightly on and off since

I had a coil put in after the birth of DS2 aswell and exactly the same then, on/off bleeding for about 8 weeks but once that settled, no periods at all, am hoping it works that way this time too.

Cheers for that. I have the copper one as opposed to the mirena so unfortunately my periods will come back at some point... But it's reassuring to know this bleed is normal.

I'm breastfeeding and getting a copper one fitted too. Jlosomerset - was yours copper or a Mirena? Just wondering what to expect. Thanks!
