3 Weeks!!! What's his hurry? Your body hasn't been yours for 9 months, surely you're allowed to keep it to yourself for a wee while?

I could barely get out of bed at 3 weeks!

After DS2 (em c section) we tried at 6 weeks, I was still very sore but we found a way that worked after a lot of trying. Less like sex more like trying to wire up a new tv.

After DD we were on the ball after 2 weeks, the only problem was (and is) the numbness in my belly, but trial and error. some ways work, other don't.

It's not just the section, it's the carrying the baby around for so long too, it does put a lot of pressure on the muscles downstairs, and no matter how you deliver, things change and bits are not the same after, takes a while to get used to it.

But no, unless it is severe pain, don't worry, go slow, use lube and see if different positions make any difference. She can speak to her GP or HV if she is worried. Some of it may be psychological, as I said, things down there are very different and sex feels different as well as the usual tiredness and shock of being a new mum.

There are a lot of variables that go along with any delivery...yep, she's probably not feeling to great ANYWHERE, even now. In the US we're told to wait at least 6 weeks to become intimate after a c-section. As another poster said, it's major abdominal surgery, so you want to make sure everything is healed from the inside out. And, then there's those pesky hormones--they really do a number on you, even your skin in the vaginal region. It can tear, it can shred...and then there are yeast infections and a number of other issues--ALL DUE TO HORMONAL CHANGES and the delicate ph of the "region". So be patient....and be supportive. She's not trying to give you excuses, I promise
