Its pretty painful down below anyway, as i had a second degree tear, but, the pain i get most is in my uretha, i was catherterised as i had an epidural, is it normal for it to hurt sooooo bad afterwards? i'm 5 days post partum and the pain is so bad, i have to get in the slower to pee aiming cold water at my bits cos it burns so much!

Sounds like you have what I had. It burned SOOO bad to pee. In fact I had two second degree tares that went right beside my urethra plus being cathed. Take warm/hot water baths and soak 3 times a day (if you even have time!) I find this to help ALOT. I also got a spritz bottle and would spray it on my lady area's when I peed. This helped a ton too. It took me a good week and a half to two weeks to get better. Every once in a while it will hurt but nothing like it did.

I also had a catheter put in and it made it SO sore to pee afterwards but after about a week and a half I was fine so don't worry it shouldn't be too long. One thing I would say is try drinking more water as the more concentrated your pee is the more it burns so if you drink more it will be less concentrated and should hurt less!

I had a catheter cos I had a c-section, when they took it out didn't really hurt, before they took all the needles in my hands out had to do 3 wees which were over 200mls each!!!

Didn't hurt afterward though

Mine hurt for a while afterwards - it wasn't on my stitches it was like where it was coming out - after a week or 2 it got better though
