how soon after c section can u have sex?

sorry to be crude but i am gagging!! had my stitches taken out today?
obviously we will use protection.

Its not normally advised until after your 6 week check where your doctor will tell you its ok (if it is obviously!). I'd imagine i wouldnt be very comfortable if you do it now hun but its up to you, maybe give your midwife/health visitor a call and ask them x

I was chatting to my MW and said I'd need to sort out contraception before my 6 week check up iykwim...as if I wanted hormonal contraception it could be wayyy after 6 weeks they would start working because you have to have a period before you start taking the pill...so she kinda implied it would be ok before 6 weeks!

I'm sure it would be ok before 6 weeks but you only had your baby 9 days ago via major surgery. I really wouldnt say its a good idea right now. I'd imagine it would be more painful than pleasurable!! x

Both times, b4 my 6 wk check, but i cud only mge with him on top till i felt confident that the section wound had healed properly & he had to be really gentle - & careful!

Went on the pill immediatly after both births as i know wot were like!!

Emilie is 5 weeks old & we havent but tbh I dont want too yet

Maybe ask your HV I would think it would be when your ready but I know 9 days after I was still very uncomftable

We did very soon after my c section, but I was on top and we used lubricated condom and ky. No pain at all but you'll be very dry especially if you're breast feeding. No need to wait for check up at all. Enjoy and know what you mean - what is it with our hormones???

me bleeding had stopped and everything was great
