Resuming Sexual Intercourse after birth

Right, I'm just going to be really frank now! How long does it take for your vagina to go back to normal size internally after a vaginal birth? Or does it never go back? I'm not ready to have sex yet but I know my husband is, hehe! Anyway, for the first time I have inspected myself interally in the bath and it all seems very stretched still, I fear my hubby's little one would get lost in there and I don't want to have a bucket! My husband is very caring and I know he wouldn't mind but i feel quite upset it really!

When did you have sex for the first time and how was it?

Told you I was going to be frank!

x x

Oh honey, it takes longer than 4 weeks for lots of women! It's only recently we've done much (not for want of trying on the part of husband!) but it all depends on your birth...

I haven't checked down there yet as tbh, I'm quite scared to! However everything feels ok for me. I have my 6 week check up on Monday and hopefully will get to the family planning clinic then too. I don't feel it will be any problem for me though as I've had no pain for weeks adn everything feels like its back to normal..

Thank god tbh. We've been kinda going crazy waiting!!

Bun is almost 8 weeks and I still feel weird and um - extra delicate - down there. The thought of sex makes me cross my legs tbh. I can't help but think it will be painful! I think I am getting my first period now and tried out a tampon and that kinda hurt so I don't know. And I just had a small tear and no stitches! OOps - sorry if tmi.
xx

Did you do your pelvic floor exercises? I did them the whole way through pregnancy and afterwards too (not as much as recommended, but still once a day). They made a huge difference to me and I'm still doing them when I remember to keep everything...err..tight
