Prolapse

Didn't know where to post this. I was going to post it in TTC but I figure it's more suited here.

I was, CM investigating and my cervix is so low (I assume it's my cervix) that I can feel it with the tip of my finger. It might not be my cervix but it's a massive hard lump. Anyway, I did what I shouldn't have done and googled and it does sound like a prolapse of some sort. Where your womb comes down?

Has anyone had one? Could you tell me what it's like? I'm not sure if I'm completely off track and it's something else...

my friends mum has this and had an elastic band thingy put round it to hold it in place but its not working and so she now needs a hysterectomy. Could be something else so wouldn't worry yourself with this too much, am sure its nothing!

It doesn't feel like nothing. I don't want to go to the doctors if I'm wrong though x

I've always been able to feel mine, except when I was pregnant. Just after birth it was really low but it isn't so much any more.

It's worth getting it checked out. Do you have a dragging feeling from that area, almost like you forgot to take a tampon out? That was the first sign I had of a prolapse and on looking I could see something protruding out slightly. It's generally sorted out by lots and lots of pelvic floor exercises though, surgery at this stage in our lives is extremely rare

I've never been able to find my cervix before, I'm going to give it a few days. I don't really feel a dragging, but then I don't use tampons so I don't really know what leaving one up there would feel like

I think I'll wait until after my period, with AF due in a few days I read it can be normal for it to be so low, and I never have checked up there this late before.

I'm hoping it's not a prolapse, they sound awful. *Isn't going to google herself mad for the next few days* It's actually abit higher today aswell, not sure what's going on with my body

Nice to see you back again! It could be a prolapse - best thing is to go to GP and ask them to examine you for a prolapse - bit like having a smear test but different position. Does it feel different if you are standing compared to lying down? Reason I ask is that mine is barely noticeable when I'm lying down but quite noticeable when standing, I have a bladder prolapse so maybe slightly different. If it is prolapse then GP can refer you for physio which has a really good success rate - surgery is very rare and if you do need it then all following babies will be born via c-section. Feel free to pm me if you want to.
