Tampons?

My blood loss is going from sometimes loads to very little, I know with BF it can do this... but I absolutely hate wearing pads, so my question is, can you wear tampons? If not, when can you start wearing tampons??

Won't be wearing them straight away as still pretty sore down there from stitches and major bruising...starting to feel a little better now though.

Dont quote me on it but im pretty sure it can cause risk of infections..
Best to just use pads and wait for it to stop before using tampons again for your next period

I was told by my doctor that wearing tampons after giving birth gives you an increased risk of infection. He told me that it would be safe to use them when I start my second period. He said even using them on your first period after birth can give you an infection, because all of the stuff inside you is still coming out and that your first period clears it all out. I know so many different doctors and midwifes have different outlooks on this, but this is what I was told.

I absolutely HATE pads too!!!

I used to hate them. But now, I'm too scared to use a tampon lol. Plus, with pads you can see how much you're bleeding and how much clean space you've got left . Which i think gives me a bit of piece of mind cos i wasn't sure how my periods would be after birth and leaking, to me, is the most embarrassing thing!.

Hmmm I used them for my first period. It was after birth though, like 10 weeks. Was never told otherwise... I've never worn pads apart from after birth - I can't bear them. However I did find a brand that claimed to be made 'with silk' were marginally less hideous...Bodyform I think?

Dont use tampons till at least your first period - any earlier and you run the risk of a very serious infection xxx
