Looks as though mine has almost stopped now, to the point of where I was thinking that I don't need to wear a pad anymore. Been about 3 weeks now, but I had stitches

Oh thats good to know as we had our babies the same day ! i havent done the deed yet as im too scared its gonna hurt !! even though i do feel like everything is normal down below! better just get brave and do it i think !!! lol

almost five weeks and still bleeding but light---and seems heavier on some days and when it seems like its gonna stop picks up again--- and oh yeah i got three stitches as well
but ya same here=---waiting for the bleeding to stop first
We've never waited 6 weeks
One of the main reasons is that your cervix is still quite open and thus you are more prone to infection.
But if both you and hubby are fresh and clean from the shower and are both clear of any sti's and completely monogamous then the chances of infection are very very slim.
And yep you need contraception because your hormones make you more fertile after giving birth.
If you feel up to it and hubby is willing to be gentle and uinderstands to stop if you feel any discomfort then go for it, the longer you leave it the harder it gets by all accounts. Just make sure you have plenty of water based lube on hand.

I am absolutely gagging for it, I missed pre preg sex when my belly did not dictate what was going on and I am so ready to pounce on OH
