is this normal? HELP!!! TMI SORRY!!

hiya girls!
im really embarrassed to go to my doctor or mw about this which is why im asking you lol

i had my daughter 4 days ago, and and 2 stitches at the back from the opening towards my bum
and i opened my bowels for the first time the second day after having her, i was really scared because i was scared it would hurt, but it was fine, i just breathed through it, without pushing but i noticed my bum was a bit sore before anyway which i put down to excessive wiping due to bleeding (sorry tmi)
but now i have noticed a lump near my (soooo sorry) bum opening that hurts evertime i wipe which im guessing is piles coz i had 2 little lumps when i was pregnant in the same place but they went towards the end.

its really uncomfy, i can be sat watching tv and it will feel like im gunna pump (sorry) but nothing happens and it hurts its a really strange thing.
i cant go to my doctor im so embarrassed, someone told me to use sudocrem, that eases it for about 2 hours but then i have to reapply.

does anyone know if this is piles? how to get rid of it without embarrassment? and how to prevent it?
i dont understand because i havent been straining, maybe it could be because i avoided going for a number two because i was scared i dont know!

im sorry if ive grossed you out but im worried, is it normal to get pile right after having a baby?

I have heard that it can be normal to get piles after having a baby, or during pregnancy. Please don't be embarrassed, your doctor or midwife will have seen it all before, honest! I would definitely speak to either one about it. I was too shy to mention that I was in pain for a few days and it turned out my stitches had come out, so I really wish I had said something sooner. Have a word with your midwife, she will probably have a look for you (it might seem embarrassing but you'll be fine) xx

Hi there hun, please don't worry piles are very common, and you may have got them when you were pushing if you had a natural birth. I developed a pile when I was pushing baby out, I felt it go...not nice!! Anyway i used anusol cream from when i got home from hospital which u can pick up in supermarket and go through self service bit!! It worked wonders for me and instantly eased the pain and shrunk the pile so its gone now thank god!! If this doen't work for you, dont be worried about going to the docs, its sooooo common in pregnancy and following it xx

I had piles (and still have them!) whilst I was expecting Ellis. I went to the Dr and he did not even ask to see them!! He handed me a perscription for a wonderful cream that really helped and asked if I wanted to be signed off work as it was uncomfortable sitting and I work in an office. Imaging handing in a sick cert with piles down as the reason lol!!

oh bless you.... its really nothing to be embarrassed about, I had them after my baby, I told midwife and she said to keep an eye and if it got any bigger then she would take a look. It was fine very uncomfortable and I was terrified of going to the loo, you can get germoloid or anusol from chemist but it does sting like crazy.... also when sitting down try an inflatable ring to ease the pressure (it really works)!!! My midwife told me it was due to all the pushing when having baby, I had to push hard and fast without contractions as I didnt want a ventouse delivery so thats how I got mine but perfectly common hun xx

I think most of us mums have got them or had them at one point in pregnancy and post birth. I would use anusol cream and another thing which helped me was using a sitz bath which you can buy in most pharmacies too. I know exactly how you feel, i had lots of tearing and it was pretty painful. Piles are unpleasant. Try the sitz bath and the anusol and if it doesnt go away which it should then you may have to go to your GP, and remember he has seen it thousands of times before!

I wouldn't be embarrassed hon. If you are really worried, go ahead and see your doctor.

Honestly, it's not gross or embarassing but so so common... please, stop feeling so awkward about it

No midwife or doctor or pharmacist or supermarket checkout woman would bat an eyelid if you asked for advice or cream... and as ellismum says, the doctor probably wouldn't even need to look!
