weight loss after c-section

LO is 5wks old now and I feel as though as I spent most of the time being lazy by having to sit and relax due to c-section (plus the 1st week was spent in a hospital bed on drips). I want to start doing things now to shed the baby weight. How long did it take you to get back in your non-pregnancy clothes? Tried some on today and there is no way I am getting them back on yet.

I gained a total of 30lbs when I was pregnant and I have been so lazy after my c-section. I weighed myself 2 weeks after and found that I have already lost 22lbs. I have no idea how in the world I did it. I have done nothing! I still have 8 more pounds to go and I still can not fit in my pre-pregnancy clothes. I think I may have water weight.

I gained 3 stone when i was pregnant and lost it all by 12 weeks. I have been able to fit into my clothes since 3 weeks but have only been wearing them since 8 weeks. For the last 2 weeks i've been doing a lot of sit ups/crunches to tone my stomach back up. I don have my old figure back yet but im not far off it, if i keep on with the exercise i'll be there in about a month. Like you i was stuck in a bed for a wek on drips after i had her.

Good luck

PS. I had her 13 weeks ago

Joe is 9 weeks old and I got the all-clear from the doctor last week to start exercising after my c-section. I am still in a size above my pre-pregnancy clothes and have atleast a stone to lose. I do plan to start exercising, but find it hard to tear myself away from looking after Joe!

I gained A LOT of weight while I was pregnant. I am now between one and two dress sizes bigger than I was before, and two and a half stone heavier

I don't think I look too bad - and I am pleased with how my tummy looks - but I would like to do some more exercise and possibly diet. At the moment I am bf and LO won't accept a bottle so the diet will have to wait, and I'm not sure about exercising. We go for lots of walks but I'd like to go to a class - maybe yoga? - once I feel okay to leave her between feeds (at the moment I feel I need to almost always be there in case she gets hungry, but it is getting better).

After about 5wks (once lochia was out the way).. but I didn't gain much tbh and a lot went as soon as they got her out.

It took quite a while for me to be able to walk at a normal pace and to walk a distance too so I didn't start exercising until a few months after. (And I was one of the ones who were up and out of bed within 20hrs of the operation and faffing about the house all day.. I didn't do the whole "sit and do nothing" crap lol.. maybe that's why it took so long for me to walk normally again?)

A short walk once a day should help you feel better without pushing yourself too far if you want to feel like you're doing something x

I had a section just over 4 weeks ago and im back in pre pregnancy clothes, but im quite surprised as ive dropped nearly 2 stone so I now weigh less than I did before I got pregnant. Im wondering if its the breastfeedign thats helped me shift the weight. Im not doing any exercise yet other than just walking with the pram when I go shopping.
