Piles (tmi)

The title says it all, girls. Three weeks postpartum, I suddenly have what I think are piles. It is soooo painful when I go for a poo, like my bum is grazed and so sore. I am eating lots of fibre to keep my poo soft, but still I am almost reduced to tears with the pain when I have to "go". I have started applying Boots haemorrhoid cream, but it hasn't made much difference yet. I've had to go twice this morning, and each time I've absoluted dreaded it ... and it's been as bad as I anticipated. Does anybody have any help they can offer me (apart from seeing my doctor, but it's the weekend so can't do that for a couple of days)? Has anybody else experienced this? It would be nice to know I'm not alone.

Thanks xx

Hi there.
I totally feel your pain.
I have this problem and have been drinking tons of water and sticking to wholemeal bread, no rice, no pasta. Also I went to the chemist and got a laxative to help soften the stools and it has helped heaps. It still hurts a little and bleeds a little but is a lot better.Too scared to stop taking it though and it does cost me $16AD.
Try to lean forward as well as if your reading the paper as your bowel canal is s- shaped I was told by the midwife.
Good luck.

I had this problem. Get lactulose from chemist, it doesn't make you go more, but it makes your poo really soft. After every movement and morning and night use a haemmoroid? cream like germoloid. I started to feel better in myself once the lactulose kicked in, and noticed a real difference in the piles after about a week. After 4 weeks they had completely disappeared.
All the best

i got cream from my doctor that goes inside and on the ouside. Apply after each bowl movement and just before bed... I could only do the just before bed because i was not having bowl movements till a few days after the piles where gone. Make sure you are putting on all of area needed ** i got my oh to do this in the dark only enough light to see a bum ** dont sit on hard things lay down alot so your not putting more pressure on your bum and dont push when you poo even if your sat there for an hour just letting it TMI fall out pushing makes them worse.
